Attendance: Dave Bear, Andy Kassel, George Gale, Bruce Klaus and Joe Hayes
The June meeting was lite on official business, heavy on anecdote. Brother Klause kicked off the official business of the meeting continuing our literary exercise tradition that everyone has become so fond of. This month's installment came from Brother Klaus's own pen along with Brother Kassel. The following exerpt is from Brother Jay Shields William T. Bringham Outstanding House Corporation Officer Award nomination letter:
"Jay's unwavering optimism, always-positive attitude, and undying perserverance through years of meetings, conference calls, e-mails and letters served as an inspiration to many alumni. His loyalty to the principles of the Jordan Standard and his personal example of the same virtues helped enormously in the recruitment of some truly outstanding young men who are the foundation of the new Sigma Chi chapter at the University of Missouri. His ability to bring together generations that span from 18 to 90 years old to reach common goals that are for the good of our fraternity is to be commended. He volunteered to lead during tough times and has prevailed with distinction. For these and many more reasons we are proud to recommend Jay Shields for the William T. Bringham Outstanding House Corporation Officer Award."
The "thick" nomination suredly clinched the award for Brother Shields, our congratulations go out to him.
Additional news included a congratulation and good luck to our own Brother Kassel for his nomination and pending election to the post of Grand Praetor for the Northern Missouri Province.
The meeting concluding with Brother Bear admitting lunacy; Brother Gale seconded.
Until August, have a great summer!
Respectfully Submitted,
Joseph M. Hayes Recording Secretary
