The October Chapter took place at a round table for nine at the upstairs dining area of the Boone Tavern. Present were Dave Bear, Jeff Comparato, George Gale, Andy Kassel, Thad McCanse, Scott Priesmeyer, Chris Pullen, Dylan Strecker, and President Bruce Klaus, who, uncharacteristically, was late and unprepared.
As the Recording Secretary was about to read the minutes of the August meeting at the Lake of the Ozarks, President Klaus announced that the meeting had taken place at T.K. Brother's and nothing happened. It would be appreciated if the Recording Secretary was kept informed of this type of change, as some time had been spent on the August minutes, which seems to have been wasted - the Secretary's time, that is.
The usual round table introductions took place, which seems advisable as we meet every other month and some could easily forget just who the various brothers are. It was announced that we have 19 pledges and three transfers, giving a total of thirty-three in our Colony.
Chris Pullen said there would be two pledge classes per year with a time restriction only on the first rush class. Chris also modeled a Sigma Chi tee shirt. A Declaration of Intent was mailed today.
National has offered $8,000 for some purpose, but there was concern expressed about possible strings attached. Brother Gale pointed out that we need about 57-58 living in the house to break even. There was some discussion of alumni and alcohol. Also, Brothers Bear and Gale were given well-deserved recognition, but I failed to note for what.
All told it was a very successful meeting which ran smoothly without an agenda.
