Attendees: Thad McCanse, George Gale, Andy Kassel, Ben Trachtenberg, Bruce Klaus, Dave Bear, Eoghan Miller and Joe Hayes
The group met for the first time outside of Boone Tavern in years. Harpo’s was our host and the atmosphere was a little louder than we were used to. Hearing aids need to be amped up for our next visit. President Kassel announced that we have two International Balfour candidates from our Province. Eric Salzberg from Washington University in St. Louis and Harry Petty from Mizzou. We also voted on petitions for colonization from three schools; Southern Illinois-Carbondale, Boise State, and Loyola-Chicago. All three passed unanimously with the caveat that the Central Mo Alumni Chapter would state its belief that Boise is actually not a state within the Union. Thanks Brother Klaus!
That concluded official business for the day. As always we enjoy the camaraderie of brotherhood and agreed to meet again at Harpo’s for our June meeting.
Respectfully Submitted, Joe Hayes Recording Secretary |

Attendance: George Gale, Joe Hayes, Rick Huffstuder, Andy Kassel, Bruce Klaus & Eoghan Miller
First order of business was the re-election of a slate of officers that has run un-opposed for a few years now. Our grip on power is secure for yet another year.
President: Andy Kassel
VP: Eoghan Miller
Treasurer/Literary Chair: Bruce Klaus
Recording Secretary: Yours Truely
After the re-election, President Kassel informed us of the success of our online dues paying software in collecting dues. Additionally Grand Praetor Kassel informed us of the undergraduate chapter at St. Louis University losing their charter, upcoming initiation at Westminster on March 3rd and call for recruits for a new alumni advisory board at Westminster.
With official business concluded the rest of our lunch hour was filled with tales of Brother Klaus's stint in the Golden Eagle Marching Band and SE Missouri State. Apparently the tenor saxophone was never played so eloquently but then again when you have lots of air to blow wonderous things can happen! Brother Klaus also led us in our literary exercise with the assistance of Brother Huffstuder's spectacles:
"Confidence...thrives on honesty, on honor, on the sacredness of obligations, on faithful protection and on unselfish performance. Without them it cannot live." ~Franklin D. Roosevelt
Our Central Missouir Sigma Chi thoughts are with our brother Thad McCanse, recovering from heart bypass surgery. His wit and unrelentless badgering of Brother Gale was missed this month! Hurry back!
Fraternally,
Joseph Hayes
