Central Missouri ΣΧ Alumni

Members of the Central Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter met at the Broadway Brewery, Columbia, Mo on Wednesday April 10 from 5 pm to 6:15.

Since our Alumni Chapter is 20 years old everyone present was able to see the Charter issued by Sigma Chi Fraternity on April 17 2004. It is signed by Grand Consul Lee Beauchamp and Executive Secretary Mark Anderson. The names of 65 Charter Members are listed with the document.

Canon Dew’26 , former Recruitment Chair for the Delta Associate Chapter joined our meeting and gave a very positive update on the return of Sigma Chi at the University of Missouri. Bob Aulgur also gave a positive report on the return of Sigma Chi at Westminster.

The next meeting will be May 8 at Broadway Brewery.

Annual dues for the Alumni Chapter are still only $20, and are still voluntary. That being said, if you have not paid your 2024 dues, we ask that you please do so. The Chapter itself must pay its annual dues ( $300 ) to Sigma Chi in order to maintain it’s status as a Chapter, and that will come due in March.

The members of Central Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter met at Broadway Brewery in Columbia, Missouri on August 8, September 13, and October 11. At each meeting most of the discussion revolved around the return of Sigma Chi at Westminster and the University of Missouri. Both associate chapters are progressing well with 7 current pledge members at Sigma Chi Tau with 25 listed on the directory and 37 pledge members listed at Sigma Chi Delta. At the October 11 meeting Sigma Chi Delta Quaester Drew Hahs and Philanthropy Chairman David Crow gave reports of events at the University of Missouri. They are working with the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority raising money for The American Cancer Society/ Breast Cancer Awareness and the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Their fundraising events were on Oct 5, Oct 12, and Oct 26. The Sigma Chi Delta associate chapter has also planned a meet and greet dinner with University of Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni at the Heidelberg in Columbia on November 3.

On May 10, June 14 and July 12 the members of the Central Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter met at Broadway Brewery, 816 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri from 5-7 pm. Much of the conversation at all three dates revolved around the 84^th Grand Chapter in Toronto, Canada. Significant Sig Bob Aulgur, Westminster’76 was the certified delegate representing the Central Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter. Ben Trachtenberg, Yale ’01 was the alternate delegate. Ben also serves the Sigma Chi International Fraternity as Chairman of the Governing Laws Committee. Most of the business voted on at the 84th Grand Chapter involved Pledge Fees, Initiation Fees and Member Fees. Bob Wilson, Ft Hays’81 was elected as the 73rd Grand Consul.

We had a visitor at our July 12 meeting with a cell phone call from Order of Constantine Sig and Grand Trustee J. B. Allen, Western University ‘79.
